![]() Leilani is our founding director! A specialist in community based art, she has been leading educational arts programs since 2012, when she founded a multi-cultural dance troupe through Rainbow Theater of the Cultural Arts and Diversity Resource Center at UC Santa Cruz. Since then, she has taught hundreds of arts and social justice based workshops and courses for youth and women across the Bay Area. After graduating from UCSC with a double major in Sociology and History of Art and Visual Culture + a minor in Dance she pursued an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art & Writing with a concentration on Art and Social Justice, where she founded Wage Art and began hosting. Each Sister Circle explored a different topic and the ones where the most powerful stories and ideas are shared, were turned into collaborative projects like "Stay True" and "Born of Warrior Woman." In addition to directing BAY-Peace: Better Alternatives for Youth she also does part-time grant writing for youth arts organizations and occasionally does talent/commercial work, including clients like The Peoples Conservatory, Pandora Music and Rachel Platten.
